I’ve tried your store locator and I can’t
find Kentucky’s Best in my area. Why aren’t your cigarettes
available everywhere?
Kentucky’s Best gets calls every day from all over the country
with requests for our cigarettes. Unfortunately, lawyers and the government
have made that a challenge for small companies like ours. The Master
Settlement Agreement that ended lawsuits against the tobacco industry
has resulted
in exorbitant costs and even tougher rules for selling cigarettes in
some states. We are talking with folks in Washington right now about
an affordable
way to sell our cigarettes throughout the country to the people who want
them. Right now, you can find Kentucky’s Best in Kentucky, Tennessee,
Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia,
Mississippi, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and Texas. We are working on expanding
our distribution, so please check our website for updates. Please request
us at your favorite local store and tell them to call 1.866.327.6374
for more information.
What goes into a Kentucky’s Best cigarette?
Whole-leaf, top-grade tobacco – the best that we can find. A little
chocolate – that’s a key ingredient in just about every major
brand. Plus quality craftsmanship and a lot of pride in what we do. You’ll
taste the difference the first time you light up.
What makes Kentucky’s Best cigarettes different
from competitors?
Kentucky’s Best is the only cigarette made by lifelong tobacco farmers
and warehousers who know quality tobacco when they see it. Most executives
for big tobacco companies have probably never set foot in a tobacco field,
let alone set plants or stripped leaves. We know every step of the process
-- from coaxing seedlings to protecting plants against bad weather to
cutting and drying the harvest to precise blending to climate controlled
manufacturing to careful packaging. Producing great tobacco has been a
proud heritage in our family and in Kentucky for hundreds of years and
we continue that tradition of craftsmanship.
How can you offer such a good-tasting cigarette
at such a low price?
On the farm, we have a saying: “Pigs get fat, but hogs get slaughtered.”
We need to charge enough to make a living for ourselves and our employees
and to pay the farmers whose tobacco we buy a fair price. But we’re
a small company with low overhead and we don’t need to be greedy.
That in turn allows us to pass the savings on to you, all the while providing
you with the highest-quality American cigarette you can find at any price.
Does Kentucky's Best offer coupons?
At this time, we do not offer additional discounts on Kentucky's Best
cigarettes. Instead of coupons, we strive to keep our everyday prices
as low as possible. With or without a coupon, you'll find we make the
best quality American cigarette you can buy at any price.
You say many other companies make their cigarettes out of reconstituted
tobacco. What is that exactly?
Reconstituted tobacco is often made by mixing tobacco stems, dust, and
other scraps, and dissolving these into a liquid. This liquid is then
dried out into a flat sheet, which is chopped up to make smoking tobacco.
We wouldn’t want to smoke something like that, and we figure our
customers wouldn’t either, so you will never find reconstituted
tobacco in a Kentucky’s Best cigarette.
Where in the world is Cynthiana, Kentucky?
Cynthiana, Kentucky is home to Farmer's Tobacco and the only place in
the world where Kentucky’s Best cigarettes are made. The seat of
Harrison County, Cynthiana is located in the northern area of the Bluegrass
Region just above Lexington. With a population of just over 6200, Cynthiana
has strong connections to the rural areas surrounding it and is the place
where many farmers come to do business. Bob and Mike Ammerman’s
ancestors have lived in Harrison County for four generations, since immigrating
from Germany.
I’d like to buy a Kentucky’s Best t-shirt
or get a sticker for my car. Do you have those?
Unfortunately, government lawyers have put rules in place about that too.
By law, we are not allowed to provide any type of apparel or promotional
items to our customers, and we have some pretty tough restrictions on
advertising too. We agree with the reason behind it, which is to discourage
under-age smoking, but we are sorry that it restricts our adult customers
from wearing or displaying what they choose to.
